At the same time, there weren't that many experienced lash artists available.
In many cities, if you could create clean Classic lash sets with good retention and solid technique, you could build a loyal client base fairly quickly.
Social media wasn't nearly as competitive as it is today.
Many clients found their lash artist through friends' recommendations.
Or simply by choosing the nearest salon.
Back then, technical skills alone often created plenty of opportunities.
Today, the Market Has Become More Mature
Things look quite different today.
Lash extensions are no longer considered a new beauty treatment.
In most European cities, clients have plenty of choices.
A quick search on Google Maps or Instagram can easily show dozens—sometimes even hundreds—of lash artists nearby.
Naturally, competition has increased.
But increased competition doesn't necessarily mean the market is saturated.
In my opinion, it simply means the industry has become more professional.
Clients know much more about what they want.
They're no longer choosing based on price alone.
They also pay attention to:
- Technical quality
- Safety and hygiene
- The overall client experience

In other words, today's clients aren't simply looking for someone who can apply lash extensions.

Two lash artists with very similar technical skills can earn completely different incomes.

So, How Much Can a Lash Artist Actually Earn?
This is probably the most difficult question to answer.
Because Europe isn't one single market.
Prices in Finland are different from Germany.
Germany differs from France.

From my perspective, instead of asking:
"How much does a lash artist earn?"
A better question would be:
"How can a lash artist build a strong income over time?"
Many artists begin by working part-time while gaining experience.
As their client base grows, lash artistry can absolutely become their primary source of income.
Those who continue investing in their skills, customer experience, and personal brand usually have far greater opportunities to increase their earnings over the years.
Clients Aren't Just Paying for Lash Extensions Anymore
One of the biggest changes I've noticed over the past few years is this:
Clients are no longer paying only for a beautiful set of lashes.

If your goal is to learn a skill as quickly as possible and start making easy money immediately, the lash industry probably isn't as effortless as it once was.
But if you're willing to invest in:

Then I genuinely believe this profession still offers tremendous opportunities.
Especially in Europe, where satisfied clients often stay loyal to the same lash artist for many years.

That's what truly creates a stable and long-term career.

"Can you still make good money as a lash artist in Europe?"
My answer is usually very simple.
The profession itself hasn't changed that much.
